Witnesses report hearing a grind shriek as the malfunction occurred.
We have no reports at this time of violations and
while no fatalities were reported yet, it is a reminder of the lenient and unenforced codes and desperate need for infrastructure that are at issue in Daytona Beach. With the announcement of the departure of the perceived public enemy County ManagerJim Dinneen, questions will be raised as to who is at fault for this. Will it be Jim Chisholm’s turn to throw in the towel.

More to come on this story as details emerge.
