Hurricane IAN is now expected to be a Category 4 Storm. Preparations throughout the entire state are in full effect.

Predictions are still in the air as to where and when it will make landfall. Forecasters are now saying that dry air just over the panhandle will deteriorate the storm as the 2 air masses interact.

Forecasts for the Gulf Coast are looking at up to 12ft of storm surge and are urging residents to leave. The most flood prone zones. The Tampa/St Petersburg area is bracing for both the surge and sustained heavy wind driven rain.

On the East Coast there are already Flood Warnings being issued at the St. Johns River at Astor and the storm is expected to make matters worse. Flood levels are 2.3 ft.

In Volusia officials brace for winds and more the 10 inches of rain. Sandbags are now available. The line in New Smyrna Beach is manned by the cities best who kept everyone moving while providing 10 pre filled bags per residence. The bag of green receipts still less the half full early this morning.

Tides are high and regardless of where you live from Florida to the Carolinas the storm will have an impact.
