Rafael Rodriguez Martinez

Acoustic Solo Musician

Rafael “Farrel” Rodriguez was born in the town of Ponce in Puerto Rico. He has been playing and singing professionally for 25 years. Starting as a teenager he studied in a music specialized school and later on being part of the musical department in the Interamerican University in San German, PR. There he was classically trained. He was signed by EMI Latin for a solo album under the name “Farrel” at the young age of 22. '

During his musical career he has played with renowned artists like: Nestor Torres, jazz musician with whom he collaborated in the single “Paz pa' Vieques” from the Grammy winning production “This side of Paradise”, Bobby Kimball (original singer from TOTO), Steve Augeri (from Journey), Kelly Keagy (from Night Ranger), and John Elefante (from Kansas). For 3 years he was the lead singer for Project 80's, premier 80's band in PR. He moved to Florida in 2015.  At one time he was the local cover band Sound Theory's front man. Rafael continued his solo career playing in diverse venues in the central Florida area.

Although Sting, Sammy Hagar, Steve Perry, David Coverdale some of his biggest influences he enjoys playing many styles and genres of music.
