Crush Biketoberfest 2022

Crush

From the early days of Behind Daytona only a few bands stood out. Crush was one of them. In 2019 I photographed them for what we then though would be the last show. I was wrong though the group did take a hiatus.

I was fortunate get to see them this past week at The Doghouse Bar & Grill during the 30th Biketoberfest.

The weather was perfect a far cry from 14 days prior and the evidence still lines the roads with the people’s torn lives. It was no surprise that the venue was packed, and the drinks were flowing freely.

My real camera is in the shop due to storm damage, so I used a $300.00 Canon Body and affixed an old lens. The results are evident, Crush’s music drove me to snap away.

They opened with the Beatle’s, the band led by Debra Korson Blalock got into high gear and tore through renditions of Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin and a tripped a ripper of Rage Against the Machine’s Bulls on Parade.

Members Ralph Abrams on Drums, the virtuoso on Electric guitar Fred Felon along with Bassist Mike Thornton slammed it. The Doghouse crowd loved every second of it.

Might we mention Rhonda the matron of the Doghouse and thank her for years of devotion to the live music scene in Volusia.
